Just wondering if anyone has fishing the northern shores this week? Is there much weed around still?
I am off up to the office past Two Rocks in the morning.

Full Moon
Shit! I forgot to check that. I am not a huge fan of fishing on the full moon. A few days either side I am OK with. Never-the-less I will go anyway....

mullas in kwinana?
am i better off going the river or are they down there? ive already caught a 107cm mulla... i guess ill try another :D
i just told me mate we were going fishing in kwinana- ive been reading up on the slide baits and really want to try them- maybe i will just try off blackwall reach, its a good height so the baits will slide down well enough , just catching the liveys is the problem ;L

grain terminal is a great
grain terminal is a great place to fish i was down there yesterday but left earlywith a couple of runs.
if your heading down saturday i will come down and join you its meant to be a good spot for a mulloway i personally say yes as ive seen things before. slide baiting will be hard though as you need a slope in the beach to get it to function right i think?

my mate told me tonight slide baitign isnt a great idea there- i just been reading about it and im tonguing to try it lol.. he has suggested we go to cockburn off some rockwall or something - im pretty sure he means cockburn boat ramps - the sweet ones and then theres that kinda breakwall thing.. he says its deep there- should be ok to slide bait off yer?
anyone with any hints or tips please feel free to share :D

Live squid are a deadly
Live squid are a deadly bait, you hook them on snell, one through the tip of the hood (tail end) and one through the skin of the neck (just before the hood) But it doesnt like casting at all unless you hook them deep, and if you hook them deep they die quickly.

mullas go for live bait too yer?
i caught mine on a big chunk of squid on a charter somewhere out from hillarys in 100m if i got a live tailor and did that slidebaiting shit off the rockwall, bnot only would i feel like a hell pro.. but it might catch some thing hey? something big... coz tailor have pretty nasty teeth - what eats a live tailor ffrom a rock wall? sharks. :D
but what otehr fish will attack a live tailor?

It was unfishable at Yanchep last week Vince
I am not sure if it would have improved much. High tide wojuld probably be the best time to get around the weed situation.

Thanks Colin
It's great to see some comment (finally) that covers the intent of the thread here. I suspect that after this week's blow the conditions will not have improved a lot although Chockie is nagging and I will most likely head up for a look Sunday morning early. I've been under the vehicle doing a major service tonight so no excuses needed...... Fish or be eaten by the dog!

The Spot might be ok as the reef tends to be reasonably
clear of the weed most of the time Vince. We fished Yanchep at low tide last week and I have never seen such weedy conditions. It was like soup. I think the weed might have been dragged into that spot at yanchep by the currents that run with the lowering tide. So maybe you will have some better luck up at the office.
