Beach fishing outfit, which to choose?

I have been looking for months trying to decide which rod I will buy and which reel I will pair it with.

There are so many options out there I just cannot decide on anything. I was having a look at the Daiwa aird4000 for a fair priced reel that won't break the budget too much; but in saying that I could be selecting the complete wrong reel.

Hoping I can get a few recommendations just to narrow down my options a little bit.

Angus.

are you looking for a lure spinning combo or a bait soaking 12ftish combo?

4000 aird will be a bit small for the 2nd option

Probably a bait soaker but I

Probably a bait soaker but I want something that is fairly versatile off rocks and groynes. Something that could flick some metal lures out as well, like some knights and what not. I don't want to limit myself with a huge rod that i can only use out in the surf. The main reason I'm looking for a bigger rod is because I want to start chasing tailor and salmon and chasing the bigger species possible from land based locations.

I haven't even considered maybe I need just another spin stick with a higher weight rating, but its just the whole issue with casting distance as well.

Cheers!

i would def have a look at the beach elite series. i have the 10'0'' shakespeare beach elite matched with a 5000 saragosa (but would hapilly swap that for a pflueger salt 050/060) very good lure casting rod and reel combo, nice and light, great cast and still 8-12kg so still got some balls when needed and is a very reasonable price
