Anyone used Majorcraft Crostage CRJ Rods?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has used or even owned these rods and what they thought? Particularly interested in either the CRJ-B60/3 or CRJ-B60/2.

They seem unbelievably cheap even after being imported but look well designed and use quality components.

Was considering pairing one up with a Daiwa Ryoga Bay Jigging 2020 and using for demersal jigging using metals, pirates and occy jigs.

Cheers :)

Fri, 2012-08-31 23:01

Hi Kinga

I have the CRJ-S60/3 spin model. Yep, very nice rod. If you are thinking of bringing some rods in let me know because I would be keen on a CRJ-B60/2

PM me if you want to see the rod.

Cheers

Brad

Landed some good fish at the monties with the 60/3, even managed a 6 ft bronzie which tested it. Top little rod.

Yeah a mate fishes a 60/3. Seems a pretty capable rod for sure and a bargain at the price

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Thanks for the replies guys :)

To the guys with the 60/3 what is the heaviest jig you've used on it? Changed my mind to possibly going the 60/4 with 150g jig weight. Just wondering if the 60/3 would handle a 150g jig even though on paper its only designed for 120g.

Cheers

150g

The 60/3 can handle 150g just fine. The 60/4 is quite a bit stiffer and can really deal with 200g I reckon.

On a side note, anyone used the Alexander range? Just looks like the next model up from the Crostage and comes in similar models. Doesnt look like much difference except the guides and grip configuration?

I have an Alexander 60/3, crostage 60/4 and used a offblow 60/5 this week at the monties.

All 3 have great blanks and guides, the main difference as they get cheaper is with the reel seats. The Alexander best, but at a price. Crostage a great little rod. Offblow great.

60/4 best for 150 g, the 60/3 really is best for 120 g max.

 How would the 60/4 balance

How would the 60/4 balance up with a daiwa ryoga? Dont know if you're familar with the reel but its the same size as the pluton which is an aussie model.

We put on Daiwa caldia 4000

We put on Daiwa caldia 4000 reels on 4 of the crostage 60/4 rods and a twinpower 6000 on the other. The Twinny was AWSOME, the caldia cheaper but still great.
