Bent St ramp dredging

Just came back from Bent st boat ramp, and had a quick chat to the dredging guys. Looks like the local council have realised the proposed dredging location is not ideal, and have now postponed the works until they decide on a better location. I could have told them that before they started dredging, and in fact the dredging contractors told them the same thing.

Granparents were down there not too long after they started dredging and apparently there was some sort of bait busting gulls and pelicans were diving like crazy

Nobody it seems in this day and age want's to get out of the office and take a long look at the lay of the land.
We can have our name up on the wall with 10 or 12 letters after it and that makes us the Einstein of the area it seems, some of these people are really switched on I'll grant that. But there are a lot that went to uni got the ticket and just stopped taking on board further knowledge buy looking at the situation from outside of the office.
If the people who are doing the job (ie the dregers) tell you it's going to be a mess, guess what that is what it is going to be.

Totally agree-and it was the same when the Bent Street Boatramp location was decided on where it is today.

Lots of locals gave there advice/opinions about it being in the wrong location, that it would soon become too shallow, and that's exactly was has ocurred.

Council elections

Tue, 2013-10-08 11:37

Council elections are being held on the 19th Oct . http://www.rockingham.wa.gov.au/Council/Latest-News/Remember-to-Vote.aspx

So it would be a good time for anyone within the Rockingham Ward to have there say. I have E-mailed all the candidates within my shire ( Bayswater ) and asked were they stand on a few topics that concern me. I will vote for the candidates who give me reasonable answers to my questions.

These people continue to forget that they work for us, and make poor decisions that efect many people on a daily basis.

If you want to have your say in who sits on the council then take time to vote. Send e-mails to your local candidates and ask them questions . We all know they will lie and tell you one thing then do another, but it can't hurt to keep asking questions about the decisions they make.

In the last few years social media has realy made a difference, and seems to be the only way to get a response from elected public servants . So give them shit, and get your friends to do the same .

Is the dredging being done

Tue, 2013-10-08 11:28

Is the dredging being done because the ramp is too shallow?

Who gives the go ahead for this?

Is it related to the fish kills?
