Big John's Jigs

Took advantage of Oceanside's recent sale and stocked up on a bit of gear and grabbed a few of Big John's jigs to try out at Shark Bay next month.

Have never used this type of jig before and just after a bit of advice on how to use them. Cast and retreive ? vertical jigging ? fast or slow ?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Cheers

Sorry about the slow reply

Sorry about the slow reply fellas, I didn't have the jigs in front of me, but I do now.
Got some Bucktail bananas 3/4 oz and 1 o/z in whites and pinks, and some Spire point lead heads in 3 oz and 4 oz in white.
I had a look on the web site and now have a bit of an idea, but any info you can throw at me would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Bucktail Banana's are designed to be worked like you'd generally work a soft plastic. Cast out, take up the slack, flick upwards and then lower the rod, wind in the slack as the jig falls, repeat, jig is often hit on the pause (drop). Can also be fished directly under the boat and jiggled with violent switches, good for pink snapper.

Spire Points are designed to fished directly below the boat, you can: add an sp to the hook for extra action; use them as they are or when times are tough, sweeten them with a sliver of bait on the hook (deadly up north). These jigs can also be trolled at moderate speeds when looking for new ground. When fishing directly below the boat, mix up the action (slow or fast) to crack the code on the day.
