Big land based tuna from Albany!!!!!
Submitted by Chris fish on Fri, 2013-05-31 16:33
My brother got this today at Albany on a 40g metal. Spinning for bonito and trying out his new avet for casting between using the light gear and hooked this big long tail that took him 2 hours to get in on light gear with only 150m of 15lb sunline!!
fish of a lifetime for my bro, so stoked for him!!

Last week when I was home I showed him how to set up lures properly because he was straightening a few hooks. 2 days later after going all hyper wire rings swivel at the top and big single hooks he gets this!! So lucky to have changed the hooks out. Absolutely insane fish and a very long way south for a long tail. He also caught a few small southern bluefin along with the bonito out of the same school.

He is so freaking happy!!!!
He is so freaking happy!!!! Going to be smiling for weeks haha. Still have no idea how he got so lucky to get this up on his own. No salmon around for him today just tuna, bonito and pike all caught on lures. He was high speed spinning by casting out letting the lure sink and winding back as fast as he can and it smashed it took a bit of line then came straight into him before just going up and down for the next 2 hours haha. Would of taken forever to tire this thing out.

Couldn't do it twice.
Got sent this photo again today. The kid is a freak!! Went back today got some more bonito still using the same gear same lure and even the same 20lb leader on his crap combo while his stradic is getting serviced.
got smoked by what he thinks was a big yellow tail king!! He said most of the fight he could see the tape on the spool same as yesterday and the tuna.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.
