G'day everyone
I recently got kitted up for demersal jigging thanks to the boys at Oceanside!! I am up at jurien at the moment and have been having a bit of trouble getting the hang of it!
So far have managed only an undersized dhu and heaps of reef fish I am having trouble getting 120 - 150g jigs to work well in 30- 50m of water, and deeper if possible
does anyone have some advice for a noob it would be much appreciated thanx :)

Drop when you see
Drop when you see fish/ground
Be sure you are directly over your jig working it. Once the boat starts to leave it behind - reel in and drop again.
Only jig the bottom 5 - 10 meters
You shouldn't have any probs jigging those weights in those depths.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Persist
If you've already caught a dhu and some other species it would seem as though you are doing most of it right. Maybe it's a case of just being in the right place. I know that most people that jig often get some bycatch or smaller fish. People only tend to post photo of the better fish. ;) Keep on trucking, the results will come I'm sure.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.
