You need to understand young

You need to understand young Kingfisha that a lot of the photos you see here on Fishwrecked are the result of many hours of fishing. You only get to see the successful trips. The ones where nothing is caught arent that interesting to anyone. Keep on fishing and learning you will rack up some more trophys. I spent hundreds of trips targeting big Mulloway until my day finally came, now I have caught heaps of them. But I had to do my time first .In answer to your question , any of the metro beaches will produce on their day. Woodies is probably ok as well. You just need to keep trying mate.

groins, Ocean reef marina wall and Mindarie marina wall - never targeted them myself just been told by other fisho's while ive been down there while they were ballooning on an easterly wind for them. Doubt you'll hook a black tip reef shark, my understanding is they are more of a tropcal shark, i could be wrong though, I think the guys were getting bronzies there good luck and as above its all about putting the time in

Probably he may be refering to a Spinner shark as they are local and have Black tips.

Not sure about now, but in summer there's regular reports coming in from Trigg/North Beach shark fishermen. Not sure about species exactly but would guess whalers or tigers mainly.

Just out of interest are you wanting to catch to eat or for the sport?

I think the boys above are correct

Black tips are more tropical, and even there you tend to get them as a big nuisance offshore near reefs rather than off beaches (although you can and I have heard off a few caught off the dampier archipelago shore based).

Down here you are more likely to get bronzies, other whalers, wobbies and if lucky a gummy. If you follow the numerous post on here about correctly bleeding most small sharks are OK eating. Some like gummies are great.

Coronation Beach in Gero has been fishing well for shark... Live bait a sea lion or preferably a NZ fur seal...
