bloody sharks

I've been out the five lately snapper fishing and have been doing ok, but has any one else been out there and noticed the apparent increase in shark activity. I have fished the back of the five for a lot of years and never seen as many bronzies as i have lately.
i have been getting three or four hook ups every time, it's a pain in the proverbial. To say nothing of a waste of snapper fishing time.

Steep Point
We've just got back from a trip to Shelter Bay. Fishing up to 10nm from Steep Point in 75-110 metres it was nearly impossible to land a fish. To be honest, from a fishing perspective it's hardly worth going.
.....and if I hear another ill informed, office based greenie say Sharks are under threat I'll throw up

Couldn't agree with you more. why is it that the morons that don't ever go fishing or hunting are the ones condeming evr=ery one that does. I mean we don't condem them for hugging tree's.

Tiger
Hey Belly, is the resident Tiger shark still hangin around the boats at anchor in the bay when ya get back from fishing. He is a pain in the ass if ya want to get into your boat as the sun is setting. he has a nice set of teeth.....

Lots of Sharks around, but
Lots of Sharks around, but does anyone keep them for a feed? As long as they arent too big they make excellent chewing if processed correctly.

the ones i have been hooking are near the two meter mark and i don't have the shot gun to calm them down before hauling the on board. they tend to smash everthing in the boat unless you can knock them on the head while still in the water. The boats only a 455 quinny, i would be standing on the gunnel to keep out the way. ha ha

I was just saying to my mate the other day we are getting a few sharks each trip now, where as it ised to be maybe a shark every few trips.
On monday hooked a big whiskery, as i was bringing him over the side he bit through the 100pb leaders, luckily going back into the water. Damn shame though, woulda been a fine feed.
O well, have to settle for the 2x pinkys and 2x grey band we caught haha

The pro cray boats aren't
The pro cray boats aren't fishing anywhere near what they normally do because of the whole China trade war. I wonder if the sharks are focusing their attention on another way to find an easy feed?

Plenty of them off Leeman
Plenty of them off Leeman now. Never used to catch them a few years ago, now bitten off or cut off on a daily basis.

Small ones are OK
My issue is not with small Sharks. I don't mind those and definitely can be good for a feed. They don't take your fish either. My issue is the big ones, and up north they are just getting bigger and bigger. And of course most are whalers which we aren't legally allowed to take, even if you could or wanted to
