blowfish

Is there anywhere in the swan river you can soak a bait without it being molested by blowfish?

head upstream places like Sandy Beach Reserve, Ron Courtney Island,
I think the borderline of blowies is just downstream of Garrett Road Bridge so any where above there is pretty reliable

The further up the river you go the less blowies you get, I fish around Belmont Race coarse and barely see a blowie but seem to get heaps around Windan Bridge, Go figure?

The nor-westers come down on

The nor-westers come down on the Leewin Current so they are native, some years they can be a real pest and have teeth like bolt cutters, I find the further up the river you go the better/more unusual the bycatch, soapie mulloway on lure, big tailor, baby sambo's, goldfish, all sorts. Seen bull sharks chasing hooked bream up the other side of West Swan Rd.

Port Geographe

Yes, it is the huge bay that Dunsborough and Busselton are situated beside, it goes up towards Bunbury too, so is very big, the Busselton Jetty goes out into the bay ~2 Kilometres, but at the far end it's only about 6 Mtrs deep  Undecided from memory.

I don't know a lot about the North West Blowies, but by their name I presume they are more prevalent up North than down south.
