Boat Insurers?

Just had a few thoughts of approaching a boating insurance company to sponsor/advertise on fishwrecked.  I know the main companies out there, but who do you get your insurance through and have you had any good/bad experiences with them?

Cheers,

Adam

HI Damo we are with SGIO and also get the multi policy discount too.  Our boat claim a couple of years ago was well managed, no problems at all.Smile

No Longer have a boat, but when i did it was with Club Marine, a few other bigger companies wouldnt accept the survey i had done because it was more than 6months old, because of the age of the boat, Club Marine Easily accepted a 3 year old survey that was done by the previous owner. I was the same though, no Claim so i cant comment on that, but when i cancelled my policy when i sold the boat i actually got a refund for that month. Never heard of that with any insurance company so i was pretty stoked.

SGIO,

was with club marine but they dont cover you on 3rd party, moarings that arent inspected by certified people and they are not really into cyclone tie downs, where SGIO are.

With Nautilus, haven't had a claim (touch wood) so don't know how helpful they are. Had good service with HBF when making a car claim.

Made one claim - settled satisfactorily very quickly.  The proprietor of Central Marine who repaired the engine said they were the easiest insurence company to deal with from his point of view.

I'm with Trident and so far

Mon, 2010-01-04 18:16

I'm with Trident and so far they been great and never had an issue, even on the claims I had when they broke into the boat on the Swan mooring I had. I'll let you know how the claim on the tub goes after this fire we had.
They could be a good sponsor, as they are the underdogs to Clubmarine and Nautilus.

Offices are :
