yeah Red light is far better
yeah Red light is far better to preserve night vision when its get darker. Plus I think it would be a good thing to stop you being able to see the blood from when the mozzies get you, we dont want any distracions when fishing do we???
could be an idea to put in one of those yellow insect globes that everyone used to have at their front door - or even better a mozzie zapper on the other end of the boat.

Yea I thought about getting red ones but they wont be on full time when fishing. Only when re baiting, re beering and landing that huge fish.
As for mozzies/sand flies.... She'll be right mate. There are worse bitey things out there... Bit of aeroguard....lol

Great setup with the under-gunwale lights. I see there are a few brands of LED strips for the same purpose.

Interesting, may explain why
Interesting, may explain why all the night vision equipment i used i the army was always in a green picture, that and why the nightlights in the armoured vehicles and helo's where always dull green. And all our guys always seemed to buy LED head torches that had green filters.
Great light setup anyhoo, has given me a few ideas for projects on my boat now.

I don't agree. the worlds
I don't agree.
the worlds top astronomers can't be that wrong!
your eyes are most sensitive to green light, thats why you have safety showers with green lights. That cause it's the last colour you will see before going blind.
in astronomy all healights and map lights used are red, as your eye recovers from red light exposure to maximum viewing again, ask any astronomer on his night vission capability.
Thats why my cab will have a red-night light for when driving at night.
