Submitted by barcelona125 on Wed, 2016-06-15 09:40
hey guys, looking for some info regarding buying a new boat trailer.
i am currently doing up a 3.8m dinghy to become a squiding/breaming boat, but i am looking at starting new with the trailer as the old one is too far gone.
just wondering if u guys have any reviews/recomendations to any trailer companies.
any info would be much appreciated
Thanks

How far gone is the trailer
How far gone is the trailer Nathan? Sometimes easier and cheaper to do a rebuild. Pm me some pics and I'll give you some advice.

nah mate the trailer is
nah mate the trailer is rooted,
i've already looked through it and priced everything that i would need and it would only be a couple of hundred cheaper than a new dunbier trailer. i would also feel more comfortable traveling distances with a new trailer
thanks anyway sea-kem

No probs, I guess my point
No probs, I guess my point was you could use the existing licence to build your own new custom trailer a lot cheaper than buying from somewhere liek Dunbier. Anyway good luck with it.

Dunbier
I had a dunbier for my dinghy - light's were shocking from day 1. Went back to the dealer a few times but gave up in the end and got some led lights. Had no dramas after that but the trailer was brilliant. Followed my car through a lot of stuff; beach, gravel roads, offroad beach tracks, etc. had no drama's in the 5 years that I owned it.

Roadmaster.
Maybe give Roadmaster a try. They are in Beechboro Road Bayswater. I have a 4.0m tinnie with an original Roadmaster under it that I am doing up.
They have all the DIY bolt together bits you need to assemble a full trailer for a tinnie & put your original VIN tag on it. Shhhhhh.
I think that is all you will be needing for the tinnie.
Cheers & Stay safe

roadmaster
Roadmaster built me a trailer with a heavy duty frame and 1000kg single springs utilizing my old drawbar and hitch and my axle and wheels for less than $1500.I regularly tow up to Gnaraloo and Warroora with freezer and swags loaded on.The mudguards are well stuck on and it has a plate to tech screw the number plate on.The lights were well fitted and go underwater.Best money I ever spent It.went straight over the pits with a modern compliance plate. As we all know to come back from the norwest with mudguards and a number plate still attached takes a bit of doing.
just do it.

Just got a new Ace Trailer
Just got a new Ace Trailer tandem axle for my boat. Though probably more than you require.
Old trailer was a Roadmaster Single Axle thats been good for 21 years. Just wanted to upgrade to a tandem axle trailer. Did find Roadmaster to be quite expensive when i just recently got quotes for the new Tandem Axle Trailer. Especially seeing as they are still Galvanized Box Tube Trailers. They were nearly as much as the Ally I Beam, the one i went for instead.
My old tinnie(410 Salmon) i bought in 2003(that my brother now owns) still is on its original Dubier Trailer. And that things gets loaded up to probably overloaded :-D and then we smash it along behind the 4wd to remote fishing rivers in the NT on some heinous tracks. And its still hasnt missed a beat. only had to replace the springs and axle to more heavier ones to cope with all the gear we were putting in it for the trip!

Go see Paul at Freo
Go see Paul at Freo trailers. Hes an agent for Dunbier and they also have the BG trailers.
They occasionally have some secondhand stock come through.
