Bottom bouncing combo for $350-400

A mate of mine wants to upgrade his gear and get a bottom bouncing combo with 50lb.  He wants to spend $350-400 with braid included in that - so lower end of the spectrum.  Anyone got any advice, will be looking to get it next week while he is in Perth.

Cheers,

Adam

Backbone at campbells = $100
Tyrnos 20 = $250
and might scrape through for the braid

I reckon you can't go pass an Ugly Stick when you're looking at cheaper rods around the $100 mark.   If he is after a spinning reel, I haven't had a problem with my Daiwa Opus Bull 4500 using 50lb braid.  You can get the newer Sealine Bull for about $200?  That will leave around $100 for some braid.

Toriums are definately underrated. 6.3:1 retrieve and a good wide spool. Ive got a few with the 30 and 50lb Fin Nor offshore rods and they are perfectly matched. Nice and light and heaps of grunt. A bit closer to the $500 mark though, but worth it I reckon.

torium 30 or  tyrnos 12  . The tyrnos 12 has the same drag rating as the bigger tyrnos's and is much lighter .

they bring some big boys up for sure , the tyrnos is closer to the rod so has less wobble .
