Braid for Lethal 100

 Hi guys,

About to order a Fin Nor Lethal 100 for my birthday and looking to either load it up with 50 or 65 lb braid.

Currently looking at Power Pro 500yds which is a decent price.

Just wanted to know what people think of Power Pro (heard mixed reviews) and if there are any other suggestions for around the same price ( 500yds for preferrably under $90). Similar price is the Fins PRT but heard too many bad reviews about it and its much thicker than most braids.

Thanks

Hutch

Got 50 lb power pro and 10lb

Got 50 lb power pro and 10lb bite motion no probs yet. But be careful if you load up for a cast with 50lb ,with a bit of weight it can result in cut fingers.
Usually just tighten up the drag for the cast.

 The reel doesnt like braid

The reel doesnt like braid 60lb and under 80-100lb is where its sweet spot is, otherwise lays line too much on one end... otherwise nice reel for the price

Thanks, Alan Hawk mentioned that in his review but good to have more than one opinion

May lean on the heavier side just want to have that extra capacity in store just in case

 The newer batches coming out

The newer batches coming out provide some reel shims to fix the line lay issue. Having said that being such a big reel 65lb would be a minimum and unless you need the line capacity due to depth etc. I would go 80lb minimum.

Thanks, I'll mainly be LB so might just go 80lb, no real need for more, and should still get ~300m on

FG knot, learn it..

I do a fair bit of surf fishing, the FG knot is the best thing I have ever learnt. I usually run 50lb braid with 80-100lb leader going all the way to the reel, that way your casting with your finger gripping mono, FG doesn't catch the guides as it lays perfectly straight, learn it and love it!

Yeah I use the FG knot for braid to leader connections, nice and slim, and generally use a 4-5m shock leader for a bit of added stretch and abrasion resistance
