Braid questions

Planning on putting 50 pound braid on my shimano Tyrnos 30. Want to put loads on for deep, deep sea fishing. Usually use fireline but I'm sure there are other brands out there. Am looking for a quality braid at a reasonable price.

Any suggestions on what sort and what it might be worth? Also where I can pick it up?

There are lots of discussions about this. My best advice is to see the guys (our sponsors) at the tackle stores. Most people seem to have their own ideas of what is good and what is not. The guys in store will give you a fairly balanced set of options.

For me, run of the mill is $100, pricey is $200+ but everyones budget is different! LOL

You'll be looking at no less than $70 though for 300yd / 300m of decent 50lb braid.

id go fins , tuf line or berkley whiplash all perform well used to use fireline but compared to these its a bit stiff and doesnt last as well

Berkley Whiplash & Ugly Stik Braid (275m spool) or for 500m spool) i'd look at Finns or Bonzai Dyneema. Reliable braid and not overpriced like many premium braids!
