I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Poor bugger must have forgot
Poor bugger must have forgot the landing net. I don't know which of the tripod crew does it but there's one of them that shows up some nights & marches his way out onto the reef in the dark, as in he doesn't use a headlamp or torch. I dread the day he takes a wrong step. Frightened the crap out of the first time I saw him do it. The last thing you expect standing out on the island at 2am is for some bloke to suddenly appear in the water below you asking if you've had any luck.
Just because I smile & nod does not mean I believe the crap coming out of your mouth.

Used to fish the blue hole
Used to fish the blue hole through my teens with a mate from school, old dunlop volleys & wetsuits with a wader bag. Always envious of the tripod guys & fell down some holes battling the swell on those frosty early mornings

Another
Way of Extreme Fishing, no different to when we fish at Quobba, Garths, Steep Point, Kayaking, Spearing etc.
Not my cup of tea, but hey whatever rocks your boat, or tripod in his case.

Yup
Used to tripod fish at the blue holes with my bro in the late 90's. got a tripod with a tractor seat on it from cleggie when he was up and about. Never was as keen to get off it as this bloke was though. And yes, it used to freak me out walking back in of a night with a bag of fish, gear and tripod all sitting across me shoulders. Got some thumper tailor to of there though.

Looked like a Norwest Blowie
My uncle used to tripod fish Triggs back in the late 60's early 70's from our house on Karrinyup rd on the weekends as he worked as a Boily for Vickers Hoskins & fabricated his own tripod , caught some cranking tailor back in the day , nearly every sundays breakfast was fresh big tailor fillets, until he met my aunty , for some reason you couldn't get him out of bed after that on weekends.
That bloke in the vids keen but I reckon it might have been a Norwest blowie as very square across the mouth.
Far Quirk!
