If its a minor scratch its alright, but a really deep one then it may weaken the rod alot.

no harm in bringing it in and showing them, it might just be minor and doesnt need fixing at all.

Gosh, scratches like that can endlessly harm graphite rods

My one and only bling rod is a Gloomi fly and that one I baby with cotton socks. The others are all graphite bar 2 trolling outfits, and they arent bling but not cheap, and if they get nicks on them I am fully aware their strenght goes down. I try not to but I am a lazy fisher, and inbetween fishing spots will just leave the terminal tackle on, and a jig/plastic or sinker loves nothing better than belting the blank.

So far only broke 2 Rods, one fly and one spin on fish that were IMO going to break the light gear anyway. A GT on an 6wt fly (shit was it fun though) and Noah on a 4kg spin rod (name escape me but its build by Bob Loomis, brother of Gloomi.

I dont like this particular brand and will find it and post the name.

Ah its an ATC.
