Bunbury Boating

Heading down to Bunbury on the weekend with extended family and thinking of taking the boat (20ft). Weather forecast looks reasonable but not fantastic offshore. Plan to launch at power boat club.
Do you have any tips or suggestions for family cruises with kids, where to head to catch a feed of whiting or squid & other inshore species. If weather looks OK and I may head out deeper.

Kids should enjoy a dolphin cruise
Koombana Bay and around the cut, they're usually easy to find. Whiting around 27m-30m, you might be a chance of a pinky or dhuie in those depths out past the ships, sound around. Ive not heard of much being caught on the artificial reef, I never fish it myself but see plenty of boats jigging there. Good luck.

Hey mate, weekend looks
Hey mate, weekend looks pretty epic in the bay weather wise can still tie up the tub at the parade and near Barbados I’m pretty sure and get some snacks for the family and beers if the time calls. Heaps of dolphins around the cut too. Could tow a lure behind the boat and get a stinky salmon around the north wall of the cut. Some good ground in 18-21 west and nor west of town for skippy and kgs. Heaps of plate coral in 28-30 around the 11 mile mark west. It’s a hard joint to fish at times so if you want a few marks I can dig out my old gps and give you a few little play areas cob
