Bunbury Casuarina Boat Ramp Today

How did everyone who launched at Bunbury's Casuarina boat ramp go today?

Garbo & I were on the water early (4.30am) and lucky enough to get back at 11am with fish, (nothing extrodinary but a Dhuies and Snapper day none the less) but we were blown away by the number of boats out today.

Every parking space on the ramp or nearby grass was taken, as well as anywhere else people could park and I've never ever seen this ramp so crowded. Absolutely chockas!

One turkey even parked his vehicle and trailer so no one could get their vehicles & trailers out to even retrieve their boats! We had to reverse the boat trailer and then negotiate the silly season traffic.

Yes! its that time of year folks!

Where other ramps this crowded today?

Wait till you hear the situation @ Hillaries and ocean reef today!
It clearly shows that the facilities NOR are inadequate (to be kind!)
Absolute mayhem at both ramp facilities!

Oceanreef today was a circus, absolutely packed out with some having no option but to park trailers over the other side of the road. Parking inspectors made a killing down there today. not one dollar of parking fees gets put into the facilities. Also Oceanreef is the most poorly designed ramp I've seen. just my 2 bobs

Hillaries today

Sat, 2014-12-27 17:58

Launched today about 08:00 and the cars were back to the roundabout waiting but no agro and moved along at a reasonable pace.

Returned about 12:30 to be faced with absolute caos. Idiots who do not have the courtesy to shuffle or move boats down the jetty to allow others to dock. And worse light vehicles driving thru the lanes rubbernecking and getting in the way of guys trying to retrieve.

Perhaps if the powers that be got down at a reasonable hour and observed what goes on they could help by educating some of these numbnuts. By the time we were engaged on the jetty waiting our turn to retrieve there would have been some 40-50 boats in holding pattern all the way out to the harbour entrance.

Any ways a good day out on the water and home safe could certainly be worse...

They had the big top circus down at ocean reef today, it's a shame that the once a year boaty ruin it for everyone.

Clowns and pingers on the water everywhere and the ramp, just totally clueless some people.

Other than that a enjoyable day on the water.

Woodies point was an absolute shamble, everyone started coming in around the same time, there was 5+ boats waiting to come in on each retrieval lane. Couldn't be bothered with it so parked up on the beach sent the boy to the shop to get some lunch and enjoyed the entertainment for an hour and a half.

 Leeuwin boat ramp boxing day

Sun, 2014-12-28 02:40

Leeuwin boat ramp boxing day was cock smoker heaven , never again I refuse to use that ramp , idiots tying their boats off waiting for friends to show up for 20 minutes , fuck every body else who was waiting , lamebrained fuckwits in 50footers hooting past well in excess of 8 knots  creating havoc with massive wash , what a circus and they charge like wounded bulls to park there , boat ramps around Perth and the river are a joke especially considering the money that is raised by licensing out of boaters , its a bloody disgrace.

Beach launch YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sun, 2014-12-28 04:15

We beach launched at a tricky little spot and then we shot up the cut and went fishing on the flats alone. The fishing wasn't crazy but their was enough action to keep us entrtained for a few hours. We kept...5 Whiting ( poppers ) 1 thumping Cobbler ( landing net ) and 13 crabs scooping.

The ramp at Dawesville looked pretty busy with trailers up the road and in every concievable parking space

MORE OF OUR FISHING MONEY SHOULD BE SPENT ON IMPROVING EXISTING AND ESTABLISHING NEW RAMPS...

We pay fishing, trailer and boat liceses. We buy fuel, bait, tackle, accomodation etc We are a massive industry and should be better catered for by the powwers that be
