size of your boat ? amount of fuel ??

as a general rule reef can be found at 4-6-8-12 miles. 4 mile is a good place to start and sound around. either north or south. the ships has some good ground. the huts pulls fish, likewise Binningup has good ground if you head out. but one has to spend time sounding around......

My advise to you is fill in the user profile on fishing styles and boat size and type details. The that enables the user to give important advise on where to fish.
Having only recently got back into offshore fishing myself the best advise I recieved was learn how to read and interparet info your sounder is delivering. I did this by spending the time out off the Huts ( Bunno dive spot) on ground that i had dived on for crays, so i knew that Reef was below me.
The other piece of info that i will give is spend the time out on the water just sounding around looking for ground as Damo said there is ground out there just alot of water in between.
