Hi All
Anyone got an update on the progress of the new Bundegi Boat ramp. Should be up and running by now!! Has been a long time since they said it was going to be built. Also the Tantabiddi ramp was going to be upgraded at some stage.

"The Exmouth Shire Council, the Department for Planning and Infrastructure New Coastal Assets (DPI), and the boart ramp design engineers URS have finally reviewed the tender submissions for the Bundegi Boat Ramp.

It has been decided that Mandurah Jetty Construction's tendered rate compares favourably with the estimate prepared by URS at the completion of design and prior to going to tender.

The URS estimate was $1,379,557.30 including GST and Mandurah Jetty's tendered price for the construction of the jetty was $1,384,850.50 inclusive of GST.

The Shire received tenders' submissions for the Bundegi ramp from:
Mandurah Jetty Construction's:
$1,384,850.00
In-Situ Construction and Maintenance:
$2,017,118.00
Yarnell Contracting:
$2,738,472.00

At a special meeting of the Exmouth Shire Council on 10 May 2007, the council endorsed the recommendations to award the tender for the construction of the Bundegi Boat Ramp Exmouth to Mandurah Jetty Construction for the amount of $1,384,850.50 subject to a satisfactory financial capacity assessment.

Mandurah Jetty Construction has advised that it is planned for construction works to commence AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2007."

Even better news, I went and checked Bundegi ramp today for work and there is a shire excavator there, hopefully ready to begin work.

Also, when I was in Coral Bay on the weekend, the new marina has progressed extremely well. The pylons are in the water and they are paving the retreive lanes as we speak. Should be ready pretty close to schedule from the looks of things and wouldn't you know it, the marina is only 500m from the nudist beach......

Great news fellas, work on Bundegi ramp has begun this week and theres already significant progress. Hopefully they will have it completed on the due date.

Also, Coral Bay ramp is near completion. The only thing left to do is seal the car park.

So is the Coral Bay Ramp to become a nudist ramp?

IF IT BLEEDS,.........WE CAN KILL IT.

Word on the grapevine is that work on Bundegi boat ramp has commenced again and the ramp should be completed by the end of next month.  I haven't been up to look yet, but word is that its still going to be a bit of a nuisance to launch/retrieve on.  Apparently you will have to back your trailer back nearly 60m to get to the water, SHOULD BE INTERESTING, thats if reports are correct.
