Busselton Ray

Hey all

went down south on boxing day for a few days

With the jetty closed I only got a chance to fish the beach

Well got this ray on a 5kg stick and 10 pound line

as well as a 35 cm tailor

Does anybody have a guess at the weight  thanks alexangler

yea bout 10-15 i reckon.

You can take a wing span measurement and use that to calculate approximate weight using south african tables. Very similar to their duckbill ray im told

Everytime we head down we get at least one ray and/or a fiddler/banjo.... even from the boat if I let the bait sit on the bottom.

great effort getting that one in. as far as the tail goes, it may have been cut off by a boat prop. there are heaps of rays down there without one. the prob is shallow water and people cleaning their fish on the water and the rays come in for a feed
