Bye Bye Tin Tub

After much discussion with the wife she has finally convinsed me to upgrade the Genesis 550 and move to a glass boat for her comfort (the things we do). After much looking found one that seems to suit both her wants and my needs. Chose the Haines Traveler TC200 and at 6.15m should do what I need it to.

With a 2.5m beam should have plenty of room to do whatever comes up.

Decided on the Suzi 140hp 4 stroke to push it along so it should go OK. Just waiting on the motor to be fitted to sea trial it but not anticipating any issues in that dept. Will be fitting a Furuno 585 with a 1kw transducer which should be great out deep. Still deciding on Nav gear but theres no hurry for that.

Not sure if it will be ready in time. Might be pushing it. A good sounder would certainly come in handy tho.

Tim, Currently fishing offshore in a Quinnie 490.  She does great in most swells but the wind chop gives you a beating.  Looking to upgrade to a glass boat & am looking at a TC 2000.  Curious on how your boat handles the swells offshore.  Cheers, Ben

Good

Boat has handled pretty much all conditions its been out in fine Ben. Havent had any broaching issues when in swells either and as it has a fairly deep V handles most chop very well.

Only problem I had was they set the motor up wrong. Was set too high and I couldnt trim up enough so had a few greenies over the top when I first got it. Had the motor dropped and has been great since then.

Not sure what motor your looking at. The 140 suzi pushes it along in the mid 30 knts.

Let me know if you want any more info.
