Cant understand some people.
I dont get on here much anymore due to work commitments.
Unfortunatly over the last month i have been on a few times and a couple of individuals chose to have a go at me via PM. not only having a go at me but also my wife . These couple of people as far as i know dont even know us as i dont know who they are.
I feel if you want to have a go at someone for one reason or another do it on open forum so others can see how shallow you are.. the situations have been dealt with and i hope it wont happen again to me and my wife or even others.
For those that do know me from just the site or have met in person would know i have never had a bad word to say about anyone. we are all on here as we enjoy the same thing. along with wanting to share stories and pics but also picking up some good advice along the way.
OK some may think this is just having a rant but i feel others need to know it happens. im sure others have had this prob in the past and i feel there is no need for it at all.

Agree with Big John's comments, having met Russ and his family when they were in the shirt with their trailer up here a year or two back and can see why he wouldn't name or shame the ones doing the PMing.
He is one of the nicer blokes you would want to meet, same goes for Sandy his missus and he certainly doesn't deserve the crap being thrown at him.

If the threat is of violence or otherwise another option would be to report it to the police. Using the internet to make threats (public or via PM) is not only a normal offence but also a breach of the telecommunications act. A serious offence and punishable by a jail term.

There has been a lot more aggro on here lately...
...and anyone can be a target when even helpful, informative posters like Russ and Beau cop it from some of the others. All the shark cull stuff would have to have a lot to do with it, but we had two guys going at it yesterday over boat fishing vs landbased, FFS!

The last few weeks
Read a lot of interesting comments on some posts the past couple of weeks...all I think is sometimes the people going verbally toe for toe on this site need to take a breath count to ten and get over it or themselves. Personally enjoy most forums and topics of interest...and do not know but enjoy the posts as a rule put up by the Faulkner family....good site...let's keep it that way...add value to the site...on open forum and via personnel messages...review before selecting save

Well it must be said ..your post on shark culling
was very hypercritical Russell [ if that was the problem post ] you are against killing sharks but you like cooking them up at your place of work.
The vast majority of people want GWSs inparticular and some other big types taken out of the system and are getting pissed off with the vocal minority screaming foul until they get their way and it looks like your one of them Russell.
But on the other hand unsavory PMs are not on.

st is the killing of these big sharks and just dumping them out further at sea to just sink to the bottom. as i said , there are other ways to tackle the problem that i feel would work.

Lots of touchy debates lately, especially due to the shark cull its either for or against so always going to be debates/arguments and fighting.

As Paul stated , if the pm's are of a threatening or stalking nature , print them along with any other info attained and go to the local cop shop and have them file a incident report they are obligated to follow it up .

I was saddened to read that you had been verbally attacked, I personally have enjoyed reading many of your posts, you have always been encouraging to new members and forthcoming with good advice on all occasions. Look forward to reading more of your posts. For every jerk on this site there are fifty good members with similar interests, we may all not agree on some issues but that's what robust dialogue is all about, we need to listen to others viewpoint as well as expecting others to listen to ours. This is a great site, lets hope it stays that way.

I can see how it could be very difficult for the Faulkeners, having a name and business up in lights here against a fruitcake posting incognito.
I made a conscious decision to change to at least a name and initial on here but still never put my address or ph number up-many on here have it selectively for Abrolhos info, buy and sell etc though.
Havent had any of the sort of PMs mentioned here (feeling left out!) but I will say please if you PM for info at least put a name on the bottom of it as a courtesy.
