Went out this morning in search of a bit of demersal tucker and managed to extract a couple of PB's. The dhu's were a bit absent for me but havent fished this area in my own boat before so was kind of just running blind. Got to get a navionics card for sure. Did get one dhu at 50cm which went back to grow a bit. But the good bit was pulling a cracker sambo on my xzoga PE2 and a decent YTK. Bloody hell those kings are something else, havent had to work that hard in a long time. Big skippy, a sweep and a few other tid bits came over the side as well.

Big Yellow tail
Good Yellowtail Brad, would have been an 'interesting' fight on PE2, how long did it take you to get aboard?
Lifes a game but fishing is serious !!!

The sambo took probably
The sambo took probably upwards of 20 mins. At one stage I thought it was a big dhu as it ate near the bottom and just seemed to run along the bottom then was a heavy weight coming up. But halfway up when it kept on peeling braid I thought it might have been something else.

Sorry should have specified
Sorry should have specified further, the sambo was taken on PE2. Once I made the decision to go back over that spot and saw schooled fish about 10-15m down I swapped to PE8 thinking they might have been kings. Still awesome to spot schools then go for it! The sambo took a bit of time on the deckwash to get him going after a long drawn out fight . Got kingie on vid so will upload that in the next few days.
Lamby- after the trip out with you and Dave a few weeks back I was keen to get one, and man they go so much more than the sambos. Without any spots there it was a bit of a flying by the seat of pants but one trip and I dont know how many lumps got marked but more than enough for some fun next time. That area is poorly marked on the standard lowrance charts but at least there were enough other boats to know the area was right. Now to find a few more demersal spots away from the rest of the boats!
