Catching Aliens of Mandurah

Moving from Bouvard to Dudley Park (yeh, finally been able to get a smallish place on the canals). So our exit point from the Estuary will change from the Cut to the river mouth.
Squidding has always been one of our fun things to catch, and rightly so the deckie calls them Aliens. Looking at Google earth the area off Doddies looks like prime squid country. Just wondering whether it is worth a bash, because our fishing spots for especially whiting hasn't really produced squid of Bouvard/Cut. Will still chase our favourite eating fish of the mouth towards Jane Service (whiting) but a by-catch of squid would be great (plus fresh squid tentacles is the beast of baits for whiting).
Any info appreciated but NOT asking for spots!
Regards
Neels

We get a few squid off the little reef to the right as u head out of the Mandurah entrance not monsters but big enough to keep for a feed. I tried doddies once for no result but the sand whiting in there are worth targeting 30cm+ on a regular basis.
