If you have a few years

If you have a few years experience you really shouldn't need to ask this question. If you know your boat and the conditions it can handle and know your anchor will hold, pick the conditions to suit and you'll be fine. Log on with sea rescue and don't take any silly risks. Night fishing can reap some big rewards but if your not comfortable stay home and do an early morning.

I'd be interested in other members thoughts, but my understanding is that if snapper are your target then the sound at night at this time of year may not be the best option. From my little knowledge (gained mostly on this site & a couple of recent successful very early morning trips) the outer fringing reefs of the sound are likely to be more productive than the sound. If that is the case then obviously in a 15 ft'r you'd really want to know your's & your boats capabilities and pick the right time to venture out there. Good luck either way.

 thanks guys, the weather

thanks guys, the weather does look oretty crap  was hoping the forcast was going to change for the better but no such luck. AlwaysFishin, thanks fir your comments, i feel pretty happy i can handle most in the sound but as i dont know anyone else into boating\fishing id rather ask than think i know whats best just incase im missing something.  It takes a long time to learn when your always sitting in the middle of the ocean by yourself!

Olliej, the way its looking i may go out for a few squid instead, ive just got back from a quick trip to exmouth so have the fishing bug biting hard at the moment!

duges66, i agree it may not be the best place to find snapper and i wouldnt mind heading out a bit further during the day but even getting out of the sound during the day can be tough but would still like to anchor up in the sound away from the swell with a cpl of rods out for snapper and one out for tailor or bait fish, begger cant be choosers and unfortunatly im a begger. il keep my eye out for a smooth day and try and do some bottom bashing out towards 5 fathom when the weather lets me

thanks for all ur advise guys
