Cockburn sound

Hi Guys just chasing some info on parking whilst being out in Cockburn sound. I have heard rumours that the old Woodman's point boat ramp besides power boat club can get sketchy for parking and things going missing off your car. A) just wondering if this is true, B) What ramp does everyone use to fish Cockburn. Hoping to take the old man out for a squid session in there.
Cheers

Hundreds of people use

Hundreds of people use Woodmans point ramp without issue. I think there are instances at every public ramp.

I have been out and left my window right down without issue (don't do it though).

It is a good ramp, but like anywhere, don't leave valuables visible and be aware of your surroundings.

Yeah ok no worries cheers Swompa. I thought here would be the best place to ask and get a proper answer rather than going on rumour.

Be smart

As said, it can happen anywhere. If you leave money in the console and your dashcam/navman in plain sight and your backpack breifcase on the back seat then you are giving some incentive for people to let themselves in.

Make sure there is nothing visible in the console or on the floor/seats and it is less inviting for the lowlifes.

 I've been launching there

I've been launching there for 20+ years sometimes not getting back to the ramp until late at night and being the only car there and never had an issue

we even park the car and trailer there for a week when we take the kids to Rotto over school holidays. The trailer lock is put on for this length of time though

as others have said here just be smart and don't leave a single thing in sight in your car that could tempt a smash and grab opportunist and you should be fine
