cockburn sound snapper

I have recently aquired my 1st alli dinghy and have been out in the sound trying our luck at catching a decent snapper. my son & I have fished on several occasions without luck.Someone mentioned the Gravel Pit ,however I am unsure where it's location is. Any help would be appreciated.

sound snapper..

My opinion and what has worked for me is to build up a variety of locations and search for fish on the sounder. If theres activity, fish it. If not, move on. There are various gravel patches and these are easy to locate in the days leading up to the ban as there will be a sea of boats anchored on them. I use fresh baits - squid, herring, yellowtail but the yakkers swear by gulp 5inch plastics.

Anyways hope thats helpful

Just head towards the ammo jetty at garden island and keep your eye on the big markers near woody point (commonly called the sticks), when they cross each other your close. It's in about 8 metres
