Coral Bay sambo

Fishing off coral bay yesterday and I caught a 20-25kg sambo. It may have been an amberjack as I am not sure of the difference.

I was wondering if anyone else has caught them up this far.I have never heard of one before.

I kept an 8 kilo amber, put

I kept an 8 kilo amber, put one fillet on the bbq with some dollie fillets. while it was ok, It didn't compare to the other fish. We used the other fillet cut into bite size chunks and into a tangine curry and it was perfect. So I probably wouldn't keep one again unless I was desperate, and if I did it would be going into a curry or deep fried cajan batter. just my opinion, others rate them.

Up here they are mostly full of worms by the time they get above about 8kg so letting them go is your best bet.
