crabbing

im heading down to the narrows tonight for a bit of crabbing and a flick for bream. if anyones gonna be there come and say hello.
how long should we have the pots in the water before checking?
i have seen more blues caught on mulies and the like than in the pots so im wondering were would the best place to put the pots would be?

If your talking L/B then i'd put them either side of the Narrows and check them ever 30 mins....all the best!!

thanks for that ryan. i have heard of checking them every 7 miutes or something but IMO its too quick. we saw some guys on a boat dropping piots near the pylons and they didnt pull any for 4 hours and we managed a heap but only landed 2 because we were using baits on lines. what is the best bait in your opinions?
