Crabbing in mandurah

Hey guys. Noticed crabbing season opens tomorrow. Any general thoughts as to whether worth a go, or better to wait a few weeks? Hopefully the extended close has allowed time for a few more moults etc. I’m sure it will be pretty busy over the next week or so!

Lots of small ones around
I have noticed a lot of small crabs around at the moment when I have been getting a few prawns for bait and chasing yellow fin.
With todays tide any decent size crab would be lucky to have enough water to cover its back.

Big Ones
You always get the previous years big ones right on season open, then the season goes back til tiddlers until Xmas, once those jumbos have been caught in the first week.
