80 boats
if each boat used 2kgs of berley and a block of mulies that would equal about 360 kilos of GW teaser.......

Last Sunday
I counted 52, right on sundown they came through but only a small school and for about 15minutes, half a dozen boats hooked up and that was it.
It funny when half the boats pull anchore drive right over to someone catching a fish and drop anchore right next door.
I just couldnt bring myself to do it!! so i missed out.....again...

Genesis
C Wood are you referring to the Genesis with all the graphics on it? If so 7m and 6 blokes but only 4 came to fish others just came along for the ride and free beers!
Caught nothing though, left to have a look around on the sounder with no luck as well so ended up with feed of squid!
My first attempt at snapper bashing with no success but patience is always the key!
Cheers

Out all day there until
Out all day there until 8pm...the reason they're on top of eachother there is because 80% of hookups were coming from one small area maybe 20m radius smack bang on the D9...we observed a run every hour or two with a couple of hookups certainly not a killfest ...the boys in the small tinnies done well being able to up and move quickly to the sweetspot as soon as someone goes...lots of laughs between boats no aggro ...Mr White only surfaced once that we seen and only a couple of fish sharked...The gold star award goes to the boys on " Billy Can " who bagged out in around 2 hours with other boats 10-20m away getting diddly squat

Reasons for that, with
Reasons for that, with sharks, 80 boats, ropes and anchors around the snapper hide amongst the D9 in fear. If there weren't so many boats around, the stats would be better for each boat.
It does happen like that once every boat owner in Perth gets word of snapper and D9 or any other well known structure.
And then people do stupid st!t to get within that 20m radius, then there's arguements. I can't see an obvious solution to the problem, but it would be nice if people had common courtesy and First in Best Dressed policy applies. Rarely seen...... then people think drifting past won't cause problems, then they tangle everyones line and pull others anchors.
It's mayhem out there.......There are actually other structures where snapper congregate boat owners of Perth where you will actually catch.

Nasty Surprise
pulling up the heavy anchor in the dark I just missed grabbing two snelled hooks that were stuck in the rope...yeah agree with Spence, going out again tomorrow morning before the ban , doesn't give me much time to find a new spot but what you say makes sense..

We got none
We got no fish but watched the few boats right on top of the wreck land some and a few caught around us too. As others have said it was quite friendly and lots of laughs, what else can you do if you choose to fish there with avery one else but relax and have some fun. I only saw one boat get yelled at but he decided to drive right over the wreck between a lot of boats and ran straight over all their lines.
And yes the highlight of the day was the sound of " WHAT THE F@CK" that echoed from about 80 boats as a charter boat rocked up and tried to muscle it way into the action. All the years ive fish that area i have never seen a fishing charter loaded with punters trying their luck in the sound. Wow it must have been quiet out wide for them to hit the D9 up for a fish

We were out there aswell but
We were out there aswell but decided to find a quieter spot away from the d9 .. We had a few on the sounder but once again they decided not to feed again..it's been strange this year with the fish congregating in 1 big school where 2 years ago they seemed to be a lot more spread out.. It was funny though sitting there watching all the boats leaving woodies point drag racing each other to the d9..

glad to hear it was a light hearted gathering
in such conditions it's good to see that things can be taken lightly with no agro and even those who don't catch anything have a laugh and a good time, fishing is not only about catching fish it's the whole experiance, atleast it is in my view
