Daiichiseiko Line recycler

Hello to all tackle rats!

Just a heads-up regarding a great piece of fishing kit.  This line recycler can be used to spool line at the tension you like, unspool line, reverse the line that's on your spool, and even wash your braided line!

Check it out on Youtube (takes a minute to load).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbgijFX4pfE

I'd been eyeing this for a while, finally decided to pull the trigger earlier this year.  This is a top quality piece of Japanese kit, made mostly of cast aluminium and stainless steel, with a gearing/winding mechanism similar to that found on an overhead reel.  The star drag lets you adjust the tension when you are spooling your reel.  It comes with plenty of stainless fittings, which enable you to use any line spool you like

I now rate this as one of the best, most handy pieces of fishing kit I've ever bought.

Online price is around $ 180 including free postage from Melbourne. I can post a link to the retailer, but don't know if that is allowed?

On the beach...

Late at night, on the beach I've found running the line between first and second toe works as a great tensioner :-p

Less pleasant with braid though hahaha

Looks like a handy tool for every workshop (or as mountable accessory on boat / 4x4)

Hehe, yes I got sick of braid

Hehe, yes I got sick of braid cuts, or having to use a lubricated leather glove to spool braid onto my reels.

Another handy feature:

You have some braid in let's say 300m spools, 'cause you couldn't find any larger ones in the line you like.  You know the reel's spool is going to take more than that, but don't know how much underspooling it is going to need.  Now it's simple- wind the braid onto the reel, then add underspooling till it is full.  It then becomes a simple matter of just reversing the line, then you're good to go!
