daiwa monster mesh

hey all

interested in buying a diawa monster mesh for a tyrnos 10 2 speed i just bought the reel will be loaded with 30lb braid and 50 metres of mono top shot.

i was looking at the model DAIWA MONSTER MESH MAX MXC531-200 OVERHEAD JIG ROD pe 3-4 i was thinking about it and was wondering if the reel will be too small ?

i will use it for trolling up north and use of woodies, i will cast  large baits and maybe when i get my dads boat out near rotto i will use for light jigging.

any oppinoins on if it will suit my purposes and any line options will be great !

Ever really tried to cast much with a jigger? Not really a winning proposition.

If you're going to do a bit

If you're going to do a bit of trolling then just make sure the split grip doesnt press against the rod holders. I think some models of monster mesh in some rod holders dont go so well. Not really a trolling rod though. Reel wouldnt be too small for a PE3-4 outfit, but tyrnos's arent the nicest for jigging or casting (but do quite well trolling). As those three things can demand quite different rods, its probably best figuring out how much of each one you do so you can fit the rod right.  Casting with a trolling or jigging rod wont be easy and chances are you'd want a much longer rod anyways?

to much there. I have 3 MMs and love them, but they are designated to a purpose.
