Hi can anyone give me a bit of advise on how to catch a freash feed of squid? Me and my friend have had a go around the whittnel bay area off the bank and in the the tinny we were using squid jigs but got nothing. I was thinking about parking the boat up in a bay or something this weekend and staying the night with the spotties on the water and a few beers and seeing how that went. any advice would be appreciated thank you.

get away from the mainland
get away from the mainland mate, withnell bay gets smashed by everyone, incoming tide and the change of tide, needs a clear bay, you want to see the bottom clear as day, 2.5-6m deep any of the bays on the ocean side of angel is are worth a shot, even up flying foam passage if the tides aren't too big, you certianlly don't need to be out at night to do it, pinks and oranges for the colours, sometimes a more natural looking one like a brown colour can work as well, and don't be afaird to use smaller jigs as well.
