Hey guys
On the 20th of June I will go to Darwin for 2 weeks. I'm hiring a campervan and look for some great landbased fishing spots.
I've allready been to Mandorah jetty and defenetly go back. But I was actually wondering if any of you guys know good spots and what to target around Darwin?
Or if you are a local from darwin and want to hang around for some fishing, let me know!
cheers

try and stay out of the wind
try and stay out of the wind :)
mandorah has been producing good macks biggest around 17 kg ( not mine) they are just hanging out front of the pylons with some queenies and trevs mixed in with them, only when the water is calm
eastpoint is out of the wind and on neap tides when the water is clear the milk fish are worth a hit with a couple of loads of bread as well as big diamond scale mullet.
channel island power station on the rocks did ok for me on the weekend for small queenies on small 30 gr metals but again need the wind gone.
as for barra landbased you would have to travel a bit to get the odds in your favor as the water temp is shutting them down but being lucky is what fishing is about, my choice would be cahils crossing kakadu,
if your camping dundee beach is worth a shot or even crab claw island but pick a neap tide so you dont have the current dragging your line sideways
and as always be croc aware

Thnx mate, i will defently google this spots ;)
Is it at the momment really windy in Darwin? Or is it always windy in the dry season?
Its is gonna be my last 15 days fishing in australia and I will focus my self more on the macks, queenies, trevallys and anything else what likes a lure or a live bait. But fore sure I try to catch a milk fish, I've heard they pull like a train!
Btw, is the mackrel all year around in Darwin?
cheers
