Deep drop electric reel fishing reels
Submitted by fin6 on Mon, 2014-01-13 11:20
As the title suggests I am wanting to hear from anyone who has had some experience with Daiwa Tanacom 1000/ Tanacom 1000 and or the Banax 1000. I am looking to fish 200m+ for some deep sea oglies and am struggling to work out the better of the two. Normally I would go with the brand name Daiwa but the banax Kalgan does look good.

We have sold many different types and the Daiwa is what we use/prefer.
Theres a few different types in the Daiwa range but the new Tanacom 1000 and the * Seaborg Megatwin 1000 are the main ones (*what we use)

In case anyone else is interested I found out that the composite material used are the same for the tanacom and the tanacom bull.

Tanacom reels
I recall reading that the Tanacom 1000 was the same reel as the Tanacom Bull 1000 less the bling. Of the 3 reels you have listed I would choose a Tanacom over a Banax based on reputation alone.
The following site maybe of interest. I'm not suggesting for you purchase from overseas but this site provides you with some other options you may not have been aware of.

Thanks
I think Daiwa has the edge on Shimano in the electric reel market. The banax is made in Korea vs the Daiwa which is made in japan. But I wish the reel had a metal construction might check to see what the Shimano reels are made with.
Know what you are saying re buying overseas. I have found so far that there is not enough price difference on the Daiwa between getting from overseas to your door vs getting it from the tackle store to make it worth waiting for the postage. The ease of a warranty claim and the smile on the guys face is pretty good too

Some more comments here
if you haven't already seen them. The Shimano equivalent to the Daiwa Tanacom Bull 1000 has always been significantly more expensive so there seems to be a lot less Shimano users out there than Tanacom users. The Shimano Beastmaster 9000 now has a cheaper model available the Plays 9000. Maybe worth a look.

getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.
