Where are the fishing tackle sales on?

Early January is the time that all shops are doing sales with good discounts.
If you know where a tackle shop is having a good one please let us know.

Only problem with buying
Only problem with buying online is the postage and or exchange rate offsets any savings. If you are patient you will get discounted deals locally.

Online stores
Just so we make ourselves clear here,
As site moderators we do not encourage the posting of links or the advertising of commercial businesses that are in competition with our site sponsors. We are not against the online tackle industry, but we simply do not believe in using a sponsored site to promote or advertise its competitors.
Accordingly if you have info of non sponsor sales then by all means share via PM, lets not post the links here please.
Without our sponsors the site doesn't exst... simple as that.
Cheers

On line buying
On line buying seems to have put an end to the big sales we used to see Glastro, I'm always keen to buy up on terminal tackle and lures when the mid and end of year sales are on, but they just don't happen anymore.
Don't get me wrong , site sponsors and other stores have sales, and the sponsors on hear offer FW discounts, but it is real hard to find the 25% + discount sales now days. I also don't blame the guys, it must be realy hard to compete with the internet stores.
I do buy some things online but have had hit and miss results , these days i tend to just stick with local shops and ask for a deal, most of the time they are happy to help me .

I agree with both your points of view.
But maybe our site sponsors could post some of their deals on here regularly.

I mentioned an online sale where 20% off was being offered
In repsonse to the original post I gave details of an online sale where 20% off was being offered, but this was deleted by the censors soon after, which is the reason why you can't see it now.
So much for a free market and open forum.

I feel every time I go in to
I feel every time I go in to Complete Angler in Nedlands that they are having a sale as they always look after me with good prices no matter what I buy from them even my brother now shops with them rather than dragging stuff back from HK Plus being that there are multiple Complete Angler stores if they dont have a particular product they can ring another store and source it very quickly and they have a bigger buying power which they pass the savings on to the customer they certainly get the thumbs up from me

The reason the site sponsors amd other tackle shops
The reason the site sponsors and other tackle shops offer deals and is to be competitive, that's the whole idea of having a free market.
They shouldn't try to control the market by censorship. Instead they should offer competitve prices; and if they did so they wouldn't need to censor.
Agreed that the excellent customer service offered by the site sponsors needs to be taken into account also.

The site sponsors as said,
The site sponsors as said, would expect some priviledges for their money id think?
An anology would be putting up a billboard and another company slaps a poster over it.
This thread is a funny one-i didnt even see mention of online stores by the OP?

The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Many tackle shops
Many walk-in tackle shops also offer online ordering of their stock. Since the tackle shop in question that was offering 20% off all rods and reels was located in Queensland I provided the link to their online store.
The reason you didnt see much mention of online stores is because the post was immediately deleted by the watchful censors worried about competition. Clear ?

Sales
First up thanks Jayce for the recomendation, As you mentioned even if we dont have a sale on the go we are always happy to offer discounts to Fishwrecked members regardless of time of year.
To be honest we havnt posted up any new sales of late because of one issue, Which is time. The shop has been flat out especially over the silly season Hence we are now looking at employing another full time staff member. If there is anything in particular you were chasing feel free to send us a PM and we will look after you to the best of our ability.
Cheers
