Deep fryer

Hi guys,
looking at buying a 5L deep fryer to whip up some battered fish and squid rings. The one I'm looking at is 1600W will this be sufficient? Only use it to cook seafood. Also if anyone has any tips on how long to fry the fish and rings for that would be great. Obviously I know it depends on how thick the fillets etc but really have no idea. Thanks !

We use a sunbeam 2200-2400
We use a sunbeam 2200-2400 watt rectangular one that cooks a treat steered away from the round ones as the rectangular fits fillets better. cooking time too many variations but generally keep the fillets thin and batter to golden brown colour seems to work

use a high temp oil
such as Rice Bran. Heats to a much higher temp. Ice cold batter into super hot oil gives great results. don't overload the fryer with fillets.

Air fryer
thanks for the replies guys? Anyone ever used an air fryer? My wife is a dietitian and I know she gonna shit the bed when I come home with a deep fryer. Air fryer seems a healthier option
