I run a z30 on a saltiga
I run a z30 on a saltiga hiramasa 60B awesome kit smashed some good fish with it I also had it on a xzoga taka BA 100-60 also a nice little rod bit lighter on the wallet. From memory the saltiga was $575 and the xzoga was about $330
We feel nothing but a certain difficulty in continuing to stand

+1 on the 60b, running pe4
+1 on the 60b, running pe4 atm. Better insurance on those expensive jigs.

PE4 is not exactly sporting
PE4 is not exactly sporting for demersals......PE3 would be more than adequate and a bit more fun.
Boston Whaler 235 Conquest......getting the flogging it was built for.

True, but I don't get many
True, but I don't get many fish on jigs.... Not spoilt enough yet to do it for fun:) I'm in the 'try not to lose too many expensive jigs to the bottom stage' at the moment.

I too have a 60b, its a PE4
I too have a 60b, its a PE4 rod and most certainly too heavy for your average Dhuie and Snapper. But if getting them up quick for the esky is your thing, then sure why not :)

pe3
PE3 sounds light but i see that Daiwas pe3 is over 22kg breaking strain, so pretty heavy gear really.

The key with PE3 (or less) is
The key with PE3 (or less) is to run the right amount of drag before you drop the jig and test it with a set of scales. When you're jigging at the bottom and a fish comes out of a hole and smashes it back in the hole then you don't have much time to react to tighten your drag playing around with it once the fish is on.
I've been fishing at the Abrolhos with baiters saying i'll never land one with my light tackle and then they pull drag setting the strike on an 80lb rod and the rod barely bends during the fight, so i'm probably fishing about the same amount of drag anyways :p
