Dhuie on Soft Plastic

Got this nice little fella Sunday arvo.

Late start after junior footy and Mindarie ramp being closed.

Fished with Pink Snapback SP and got this 68cm Dhuie in ~10m of water............ they go pretty hard in shallow water.

Also got a nice Blackarse, plenty of skippy and a couple of pinkies to 40cm.

All fish taken on SP

Cheers Steve

The water was great and got better as the day went on........... speaking to a couple of blokes at the boat ramp they said that it was pretty messy out wider early in the day.

I can tell the late start suited me after a few too many pints the night before

I was also might impressed by the Snapbacks as well. They are very tough, I only had to change one all day and caught probably 20 fish when all the wrasse etc are factored in.

Cheers Steve

Maybe my problem with lack of dhuies is not using plastics... But then again lack of trying might have something to do with it Surprised

What size snapback Steve?

Cheers,

David

Nice dhuie on SP Steve.

Nice dhuie on SP Steve. Especially getting him in shallow water. Those snapbacks are pretty resilient and have a good action in the water but hard to keep on the hooks sometimes but those g-lock hooks work really well if you have little fish pulling on the tail. Next dhuie on a jig then Steve? ;)

Thanks Fella's

Russ: That is two "no bait" trips in a row now and I have managed fish both times. Maybe a pattern emerging .............. or it could just be ars#

Dagree: They were the Pink Bubblegum colour Snapbacks in the 4" jerkbait style

Matt: Thanks for the heads up on the G-Lock. The plastic bunching up in the hook was a problem at times when the fish hit but didnt hook up, they wouldn't have another go when the plastic wasn't laying straight.................... Dhui on jig would be great.......... then again Dhuie on anything is great.

I haven't ventured down the SP path for demersals as yet, used them to good effect on skippy and herring but I've not tried them on more "attractive species". You did well in such shallow water and a late start!!
