Diahatsu applause starting problems,

My sisters stops and starts all day in her business as house minder etc,,by the 3-4 stop the car can be hard to start a bit like a flat battery and cranks over really slowly, sometimes she has to rest it for 10 minutes and its fine,,last night she could not start it at all but we pushed started it first pop this morning,,it has EFI ,i am thinking something might be wrong with the alternater but i don't know why it only does it when itsd hot or why it started fine down the road by acts like its flats 1/2 later,,i don't believe driving puts a strain on a battery (tho its just occured to me she uses air cond on hot days)

Any ideas ?

 Sounds like alternator is on

Sounds like alternator is on its way out or the battery is on its way out not holding as much charge.

How hot is it getting? But

How hot is it getting? But yeah not enough power to turn the hot engine when everything is expanded. But if the car still starts then it's probably not the alternator. Your battery would die completely and not start at all.

Maybe use a voltmeter on it. see if the battery is around 12-14

I don't think its the battery

I don't think its the battery at this stage,,all the mechanics are closed and now we have two more puiblic holidays so i am not sure if anybody will be open anyway?

My latest thought is it might be the fan belt slipping as it gets hot therefore not chargeing or gripping on the pulley ,she just mentioned a squealing noise so i am thinking i will check that out,,that drives the water pump as well, she says it got pretty hot today.

I can't see it being the battery but it was my first thought before,,
