Diawa 6500 S Extreme

Thinking of buying the Diawa Saltiga 6500 S Extreme Maverick reel & 76 GT S Extreme Popping rod, just wondering if anyone has one and how they rate it compared to the Stella's etc.  Any info would be great.

Azz, Saltiga or Stella, I think, is neither here nor there, both very good reels with different strong points. I own a Dogfight with a simple carbontex upgrade, which in my opinion puts it on par with a Stella.

In regards to your rod it depends on where you are fishing and for what size fish. I have heard nothing but good things about the GT76, but if you are serious about GT fishing be careful you don't outgrow your rod.
