did anyone else really stuggle yesterday?

first fishless day on jig for god knows........ended up with 3 thumping KG's that went 57,58,58.

was a weird day yesterday the 60-90m was rough as guts off two rocks , for basic flat water inside the bank..

cant complain the last 2 week have yielled 3 dhues over 15, 2 over 10, 3-4 under 10, pinks baldies, blackbums swallowtail........

that's why they call it fishing and not catching!

Hey Terboz, I was out with Paul G from two rocks and you're not wrong about rough

First time I've been sea sick in a few years even in a large stable boat

I'm guessing good forecast days out from there are usually a lot more pleasant?

Yep Exactly the same here

Yep Exactly the same here Terboz - we struggled a bit yest - we were 35km off two rocks and it was windy as shit, made it very hard work

As you said was a weird day on the way back in it was fine, seemed to be blowing just when you hit the bank, very slow to get out there aswell.

weird day fish wise, the jigs did get the only fish for the day - we got Wrasse, Skippy, black ass, Sambo and one nice pinky of the jigs, and absolutely nothing on the bait at all.

As usual lost the only mass hookup for the day, called for a big dhu- but thats fishing hey, cant have a cracker of a day everyday.

we went out from mindari for the first time, was very lumpy on the way out. we hit the Gemini wreck on the jigs with no luck then headed out wide for one gurnard. On the way back in we did a few drifts in 20m for 1 size dhu and a few undersize break sea cod.

yerh I was contemplating a two rocks launch but didn't want to risk it......

still I can reach two rocks from mindarie quite easily and economically by boat, so on weekends its just easier for me to launch from M.....waited for 2.5 hours one sunday night to bring my boat in...never again.

Also saw what I swear was one of the smallest dhues I had ever seen being filleted at the marina...neally said something to the idiot but shut my mouth and kept walking , cause I couldn't confirm whether it was deinfately under or not.

would have been nice out

Mon, 2013-09-09 12:28

would have been nice out there uncle this morning - was the water any clearer?

We tried in close yesterday behind the reef and it was very murky for nothing, usually always get a pinky or sambo - not sure if that affected them or not.

i was thinking similar but we were only in 28 - 35 metres out on the bank, probably should have come in a little closer to those other spots Paul and sounded around a bit, was on a bit of a time constraint so wanted to maximise the fishing.
