Dongara Fishing!

So... I've Got leavers coming and yep were going to Dongara!

We will be doing, so i was wondering what's the fishing like up there never been to Dongara itself.

I was wondering if anyone has some sound advice about good fishing spots and apart from the main jetty/marina thingy, 4wd beach acess is always open too.

 Land based is awesome, off

Land based is awesome, off the platform near the marina people literally stand there for 6 hours pulling tailor after tailor and mulloway after mulloway. A hell of a lot of other fish around the entrance to the marina too like small mackeral, bonito, the larger tailor, sharks and other reef fish. the best place north of perth for LB fishing until you hit kalbarri.

Was there two weeks ago mate, plenty of bream, tailor, juvi mulloway, skippy, flatty, little cod, Snook, juvi snapper and even got a few little queenfish, a 16.5 cm spangled emperor and a 38cm giant herring on soft plastics (bit of a suprise those three, but pretty stoked!!). Also spoke to an old bloke at the tourist park who was cleaning two massive sambos caught off the end of the south groin. If you plan on fishing lots though, deffinately get up early!! after about midday it gets bloody windy. Other then the wind, theres plenty of good fish to be had and its a good fishing destinatino concidering how close it is to Perth :)

Hope you enjoy the trip :) Cheers
