Dongara/Port Denison Beaches
Submitted by Andy P on Mon, 2012-04-23 22:34
Hi... First post from a Pom in WA.
The wife and me are heading up Dongara/Port Denison way for a few days for the first time (fishing-wise) later this week, and looking for a bit of beach fishing - tailor, mulloway, snapper, shovels, sharks, rays - not that fussy as long as it pulls! Just wondering if any locals or fishos with experience round there would be kind enough to nudge me in the direction of some decent LB areas - or bits to steer clear of. Last time I passed through on the way up to Exmouth the beaches I saw were knee deep in weed, so hoping to miss that...
Any advice gratefully received - many thanks.
Andy

Breakwalls
The Breakwalls around denison can fish well for all those species. Another option is to Try heading out of town north to 7 mile, 9mile and sbend. Just ask at the sports/tackle store on directions but you will need 4wd at sbend and 9mile.

Great - that's all the advice I need - thanks Tangles n Rig. Have compressor, and bolt on goodies, so tyres down and sand here we come. Will put up some pics if I get the big pull.
Cheers!

best spots
7 mile is with out a doubt the pick of the spots . Drive north toward gero and it is 7 mile from town. when you get to the car park at the beach take a right and head up the track behind the beach go about 500 m and you will find it comes out just the northern side of the reef. has been a winner for our family for about 40 years. the northern groyne near the cray factory is another good spot. right on the corner is by far the best spot here. good luck its a great place for a quick get away

Naydog36 - you stopped short
Naydog36 - you stopped short of GPS marks! Very generous - thanks a million. Got more than enough to play around with for a few days there, and it's all really appreciated.
