Early Model Landcruiser 200S Oil use

Not all fishing, but it tows the boat.
Love the tank, but it uses oil like a 2stroke. I am sure I heard there is problems with oil consumption in this early model.
Am I correct or not, and if so what is the problem.
Up here in Karratha Im getting the run around trying to fix it, and still under warranty.
Cheers
Neels

Interesting - I have a 100series
that uses bugger all oil, always has - never been an issue, in fact - several times, Ive double and tripple checked the stick just to be sure, thinking it must have used more, and there is quite a few K's on the clock. Not that it is of any help to you, but I have heard from several people over the years, that the early 200's did/do have an issue with oil consumption - Is that a LC model - not sure how the models go now, but that is generally the model that is reffered to when I hear people talking about issues with oil etc.

thers somthing about the
vacume pump being to strong or somthing like that ,it actualy sucks up oil instead of just the vapour that its ment to , toyota have a fix for it from what im told (my workshop manager use to be head mechanic at kalamunda toyota) he also said that this did not always fix the problem u can also run thicker oil ,my workshop manager recomends you contact a toyota delership about it as its a common problem from new and you should be able to get it fixed

Cheers Guys
Have done some research and it is the issue as mentioned by Scottnofish.
Its just the local that wasnt helpful.
Toyo Aus contacted them and they are going to run an Oil Consumption test.
