Eco Beach - same weather as Perth ……. Almost
Submitted by pelagicyachts on Sat, 2021-07-17 11:35
Checked in yesterday after a few weeks on the Gibb and elsewhere - here for week on wife’s request - don’t think I will get bored, heaps of bird action on the water (and poolside too!)

Just on my way back from doing the same myself. Along with half of australia it seems.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I skipped sandfire this morning. No line at Pardoo. Saved at least an hour.
And still hundreds of vans headed north.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

That’s why we chose Eco- at least it is limited to the number who can stay here!
The Gibb was actually not too bad - El Questro was pretty busy but the rest was not too bad

For $50, they will launch your boat. Couldn't get away from the tuna when we were there a few months back.

The amount of people going north is crazy. Lots coming back through hedland but more going towards Broome. The amount of extra freight going up is nuts.

Can you drive to Jacks Creek
Can you drive to Jacks Creek along the beach for a fish?? In 2017 I did it - tagging along behind a tour group and had a great time fishing the low tide!

I had to pay to tag along, but it was great fun! Look on Google Earth - there are some good holes to fish in the creek at low tide if you are allowed to get there!

No you can't. The caretaker,
No you can't. The caretaker, Neal (Traditional owners representative) and employees can. They wouldn't let me back down to unload the inflatable so, with a broken coccys (2 days earlier) we carried the boat (30kg), motor (35kg), fishing gear, safety gear and fuel 200 odd meters down to the water in 35 degrees. All this while the staff and various employees drove past us in the buggies for various reasons.
Tide was higher when we came in but there was a wedding getting ready so we had to get out of the way quick smart.
The next day, I was chatting with the owners son who had a boat on a trailer there but no motor...I had a motor...he could drive on the beach so we went fishing until he got a call saying that someone had tripped the power in one of the villas so we had to come home.

what do the salmon like? -
what do the salmon like? - twisties? - we had a school of tuna in real close yesterday - gave a young bloke on the beach casting a popper on a "whiting outfit" the time of his life before spooling him :-)

Chunk of mulie was prooving
Chunk of mulie was prooving successful at Pardoo.
Those schools that sit just beyond casting distance off the beach are so frustrating though I do have some teeth marks in lures that I managed to get out there. Didnt hook up though.

Yep, they used to be able to
Yep, they used to be able to provide some small mullet or whitebait, but that's when you could borrow fishing rods.

If you have any ,a small
If you have any ,a small vibe plastic works well. don't have to cast a coutry mile as salmon will be in close feeding if they are there. Failing that steal some big prawns off the chef and put on a 10/0 hook and running #3 ball sinker.
